Returning

You can return your loans to all locations of Lapland University Consortium Library.

Due date reminders about for loans that are over 7 days are sent by e-mail. First notice three days before due date, second one after the due date and third one week after the due date.

Return Boxes outside the library should be used only when the library is closed. The boxes are emptied in the morning.

Renewing

You can renew your book loans if there are no reservations and your unpaid fees do not exceed the limit, 5 €.
You can renew loans: 

  • online via LUC-Finna 
  • by calling the library, tel. 040 484 4302 
  • by e-mail: kirjasto (at) ulapland.fi

Renewing via LUC-Finna

  1. First log in with HakaLogin
  2. Your Account > Checked Out Items
  3. Choose "Renew Selected Items" or "Renew All Items"

Fees and Fines

From the loans which have been late a delay payment is collected according to the price list. 

Books, reference collection 1 € / book / day (max 10€ / book)
Books, other 0,50 € / book / day (max 5 € / book)
Journals 0,50 € / journal / day (max 5 € / journal)
Laptop computers 10 € / day 
Lost or damaged material replacement value of the item

Paying online in LUC-Finna

In LUC-Finna you can pay overdue fines and other library fees. Online payment is possible via Finnish online banks or by using international credit cards.

Renewing or borrowing material is not possible if your fees are 5 euros or more. Fees for overdue loans will appear in your payments and become payable after renewing/returning your loans.

Note:

  • If your loans are overdue, please renew them in LUC-Finna before you pay online. You can only pay overdue fines on returned or renewed loans.
  • When you pay online you cannot adjust the amount you pay, but you can only pay the exact amount of fees all at once.  
  • The minimum sum you can pay is 1,00 €.
  • If you have any fees that are related to loans marked as 'Lost', you will not be able to pay any of your fees online. In this case, please contact the library.

Paying online step-by-step 

  • Login to LUC-Finna. Your current fines are listed on Your Account > Fines.
  • Click the Pay Online button.
  • After you have paid, please remember to return to LUC-Finna so that the payment will be registered in the system.
  • In case of any problems please contact the library.

Paytrail Plc acts as an implementer of the payment handling service and as a Payment Service Provider in cooperation with Finnish banks and credit institutions. In card payments Paytrail Plc is shown as the receiver in the invoice, and Paytrail forwards the payment to the merchant. Paytrail Plc is a licensed payment institution authorized by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority.
