Accessibility of library facilities

  • There is room for a wheelchair between the shelves.
  • As a rule, self-service machines and LUC-Finna’s service points are adjustable.
  • The main door of the University Library can be opened with a string pull. The second floor and the 0th floor can be reached by elevator.
  • Kosmos Library and University Library have accessible workstations with electronic or manual height adjustment and assistive devices that make reading easier.

Libraries also have bookable workspaces. You can also access some of the library’s locations outside of opening hours with an access control ID. Read more: Facilities and equipment – LUC Library.

Accessibility of the collections

The library can help you use the collections. The library’s accessibility guide includes tips for listening to e-books and online texts, for example. Accessibility – LUC Library.

If needed, the library staff can help you locate printed material. You can also try reading aids in the library, such as reading slides and rulers. The library’s collections also include some easy-to-read books.

If you have dyslexia or find it difficult to read a regular book for some other reason, Celia’s free audiobook service is just for you.
